Tirann'amor is no ordinary baroque music concert, but an interdisciplinary chamber music experience for the audience and the artists themselves. They will not only make music, but also dance: basic steps from charleston, hip-hop, rock or salsa will be danced to the alternately wild and poetic rhythms of C. Monteverdi, H. Purcell and J.S. Bach. With passionate love songs, the pop hits of the 17th and 18th centuries are performed by two singers. The swinging excerpts from the concert programme Tirann'Amor are the most beautiful examples of pieces that you naturally want to dance to, and so the audience is invited to do just that in the encore, while the lutenist improvises over a Monteverdi bass. The whole thing is staged with imagination and humour by Coline Serreau and choreographed by Nicolas Turicchia. Cécile Mansuy and her ensemble le Je-ne-Scay-quoy specialise in early music and play historical instruments.
